Veteran Day in 2022 is on the Friday, 11th of November (11/11/2022).
Veteran Day is dedicated to honor and praise all the military personnel, particularly living veterans, who have served the United States in different wars. It falls on November 11 each year. It is a public holiday and an off for general public, schools and offices.
The day trails back to the year 1918 when an armistice was signed between Germany and Allied Forces. Later in 1919, the then US President Woodrow Wilson declared that the day should be dedicated to the heroism of each and every one who died for the country with gratitude for the victory.
The day is usually spent by giving church services and parades with flying American flags half-mast.
