Observed on July 4, commonly referred to as "the fourth of July", is considered to be the most celebrated patriotic holiday in the United States. It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from the Great Britain on July 4, 1776.
The day is very popular amongst the people of America which is commonly associated with long day parades, carnivals, exhibitions, concerts, music shows, picnics, sporting events, and followed by fireworks. Independence Day is a national day of the United States.
Independence Day is a public holiday hence schools, colleges, and most businesses are off throughout the day. It is considered to be a full day event and people hold and participate in different public gatherings filled with fun, music, and barbeque food. American freedom struggle is remembered in a traditional way wherein display of patriotic paintings and artwork is conducted throughout the country.
It is also an opportunity for the politicians to deliver speeches at public gatherings to convey the efforts taken by the great leaders of that time to bring the independence. It is to be noted that if July 4 is a Saturday, it is observed on Friday, July 3, and if July 4 is a Sunday, it is observed on Monday, July 5.
