Christmas in India

When is Christmas in 2022?

Christmas in 2022 is on the Friday, 25th of December (25/12/2022).

Christmas is one of the important Christian festivals which is celebrated to commemorate the birth of God's only son Jesus Christ, who came to the earth as the messenger of God to spread the message of humanity. It is also called "Bada Din" or "Big Day". It is celebrated on 25th December every year across the world. It is a national holiday in India and many other countries.

Christmas word comes from the word "CristesMaesse" or 'Christ's Mass'. It is considered as important to Christians as Diwali is to Hindus, Eid is to Muslims and Guru Nanak Jayati is to Sikhs. Christmas is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm all over the world by billions of people.

It is believed that God sent angel Gabriel to Joseph and told him that Mary would give birth to a child (Son of God). On the night that Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph were on their way to Bethlehem. The first Christmas is estimated to be around 336 A.D. in Rome. Some of the orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas on January 7.
